October 22nd

The last term for the year, and what a year it has been!

We are lucky enough to have some extra funding to allow us to have Mrs. Fullwood teaching Thursday and Friday this term. That means that I have more time in my office to organize, plan, and review.

This term we are looking at “Our future”. We will look at what we have learned so far and plan the next learning goals. We will look at digital technologies and how they can enhance our learning. We have a Christmas concert to plan and rehearse. Term 4 will see the students doing lots of designing, creating, and evaluating. We will look at sustainability and how we can all do our part to make our world a better place.  I hope you can all make it to the concert on the 11th of December and celebrate a year most of us will never forget.

Labour Day

Monday the 26th – No School ( enjoy your long weekend)

Pet Day

Adrienne Gread has offered to organize a Pet Day for our school community.  The date for this is the 13th of November. I know she will need some help so if you are able to help out, I am sure she will be grateful.

AAA Day

Every year we celebrate the student who has had the best Attendance, Attitude, and Achievement throughout the year. This year it is on the 4th of December.

This student gets to spend a whole day out of school with me. We usually go for lunch and do some exciting activities. The winner of this award will be announced on the 13th at Pet Day.

Reports

Assessments will be all completed by the 7th of December and reports will go home on the 11th of December.

Family Challenges

I am having fun thinking up fun family challenges each week. The prizes change each week but are all good. This is a good way for me to see who checks their child’s book bag and gets involved in their learning.  Congratulations to the Doctor family who have won two weeks in a row. They two good family games.

Nina Gread

Nina Gread has started school and is doing so well. She loves learning and is already well on her way with her reading, counting, and writing. Nina loves everything about school.   Here she is enjoying our new swing seat in the outdoor area and learning to count sets to ten with her classmates.

Storyline

On Monday we had a fun day. First, we had a visit from the Storyline group who brought 4 authors and illustrators to share how they go about writing and creating illustrations for children’s books.  Then we made a massive hut with the leftover boxes from the elections. Everyone got involved and created our hut together.
